What Works In Leadership Development

 By Mohan Sikka - An intriguing finding of the latest Daring to Lead study is that non-profit executives rate "non-didactic" professional development strategies very highly. The highest rated activities are "Executive Coaching" and "Peer Networks", which are predominantly non-didactic. The next highest rated activity was "Leadership Development Programs". Wall Street Journal Bloggers Bearish on Nonprofits; CRE Bullish

By Mohan Sikka -- Interesting article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday, entitled: “Once-Robust Charity Sector Hit with Mergers, Closings.” And the blog comments posted after the article are interesting, too. We at CRE think the non-profit sector is, even in its resource-depleted state, still a powerful force for change and for good. Many vital social services in our society would not be, and could not be, delivered as economically as they are by non-profits. CRE Participates in Capacity Building Event for Queens-based Nonprofits

On a day when most people are enjoying a holiday, City Council Member James Sanders, Jr. gathered nonprofit leaders in District 31 in Queens (Laurelton, Springfield Gardens, Rosedale and the Rockaways) to network and receive training on nonprofit management.  Topics included starting a nonprofit, fundraising, planning and budgeting.  CRE consultant Arnaldo Simo led a session on Contingency Planning and Budgeting for nonprofits with budgets of $1 million and greater.   Read more >>
