"What's really great is that you understand grassroots organizations. Sometimes you get consultants that are used to working with businesses. But at CRE you have sense you're working with someone who knows what it's like to slug it out in the trenches."

- Terry Greiss, ED, Irondale Ensemble Project

Third party payer plan

In many cases, CRE’s work can be delivered to nonprofit community groups at no cost. Over the years, CRE has developed a unique “third party payer plan” building relationships with corporate, foundation and government grantmakers to underwrite our consulting work.

You may qualify for management assistance at no cost to your nonprofit, if you are a grantee of:

  • Department for the Aging
  • The Robert Bowne Foundation
  • The Carnegie Corporation
  • Department of Youth and Community Development
  • The Staten Island Foundation
  • The New York Foundation
  • The Union Square Awards

Capacity Account

A small number of organizations who do not qualify for one of CRE’s third party payers and who lack the ability to pay CRE directly may meet the criteria for short-term assistance through our Capacity Account. The Capacity Account which is funded by general operating support grants and individual contributions. Currently, the Capacity Account prioritizes immigrant organizations and HIV/AIDS prevention programs.

Call your program officer at the relevant foundation or our intake line 212-894-3394 for more information or link to our intake form.

Self-pay

About 25% of community-based organizations opt to pay CRE directly for our services.
