Mohan joined CRE in June 2002 after several years of consulting experience with New York City and national nonprofits and community based organizations. Mohan specialized in working with minority, immigrant, and underrepresented populations, advising groups on growth, business planning, fund development, and board development issues. As an independent consultant, Mohan served as adjunct trainer for Bailey House, Inc.'s management consulting program for HIV/AIDS organizations, and also for the NYC Coalition Against Hunger's Emergency Food Action Center. From 1998 to 2000, he was awarded a community fellowship by the Open Society Institute-New York to develop a multi-tiered resource development plan for The Audre Lorde Project in Brooklyn. Mohan has a Ph.D. in science from the University of Minnesota, and has also completed graduate/continuing education courses in group dynamics and nonprofit management.
